Direct beams I – Adding & editing the beams using direct beam tool.

In this session of the tutorial, I will add & edit a few beams using direct beam tool. Direct beam tool can be used to connect two beams.
Open the direct beam manager. We see an alert message, “can’t construct the beam in this view.” We are seeing this message as we are in the 3D view & the direct beam can be constructed in the plan view only. I will close this message & open the second level plan view.
Open the dialogue box. The left portion of the dialogue box helps to build the beam & the right to edit them. Let us construct a beam. As we are working on the level 2 plan view, the beam will be constructed on level 2. To construct the beam on the fourth floor the user will have to open the fourth level plan.
Select the beam size from the pull-down menu. I will leave the offset values zero. Let the mark be DB1. Select any phase & concrete mix & click the okay button. InstaCrete prompts the user to select the first point & then the second point. Thus the beam is constructed between two selected points.
Repeat the command & construct another beam as DB2.
Now, we will edit these two beams. Open the dialogue box. Select reference level two. Change the beam size of the beam DB1 & select none as the size for beam DB2. The buttons mark, next & previous are used to navigate through the beam data. Hit the okay key. Open the 3 D view. Validate the size of DB1 & the deleted beam DB2.
